Shareef O’Neal is transferring to LSU. The former ESPN 100 recruit chose today to play at the same school that his father played at from 1989-1992. Shareef redshirted last season and played in 13 games this season before transferring from UCLA. Transfers are slowly becoming the norm in College Sports as College Football and College Basketball are being transformed by them. The Transfer Portal has become a huge deal in College Football in the last few seasons as high profile players are moving from one school to another at a rapid pace. It will be interesting to see if there are any upcoming rule changes to prohibit more players from transferring as graduate transfers are eligible to play immediately but the majority of other College Athletes who transfer from one Division 1 school to another must sit out one year before being able to play for their new school.

Be on the lookout for my College Sports Radio Show that will launch in the next several months along with a daily/weekly blog on College Basketball, College Lacrosse, College Football, and US Soccer. Please follow me on Twitter as well – @SteveHiegel – Thanks.
