The Michael J. Hagan Arena of Saint Joseph’s University is SJU’s home court for Men’s and Women’s basketball and is located in Philadelphia, PA. The venue seats 4,200 and opened in 2009. 700 seats were added to the student section when the new Arena was built which puts the total at 1,700 and makes this part of the Arena even more intimidating for opposing teams. Hagan Arena is a great small venue to take in a Division 1 College Basketball game. The crowd was ecstatic this past Saturday night as the Saint Joseph’s Hawks hosted the St. Francis (PA) Red Flash in a NonConference game. The Hawks and the Red Flash traded baskets for the majority of the game before the Red Flash pulled away late and ended up winning by the final score of 79-63. The Hawks were led by Ryan Daly’s 23 points while the Red Flash’s Keith Braxton had 26 points.
I would highly recommend visiting Hagan Arena if you are ever in Philadelphia, PA and are looking to take in a high quality Division 1 basketball game as Hagan Arena is a great venue. Every seat in Hagan Arena has you up close to the action on the court and there isn’t a bad seat to be had. I will give Hagan Arena 5 out of 5 stars as the small venue was electric and the fans were very passionate and engaged as well. I am looking forward to visiting several arenas in Virginia later this month. Until then.
